4-wheel geometry alignment

evoke

Just over a week ago I had a 4-wheel geometry alignment carried out after having two new rear tyres put on. Having covered 500 miles in the car on many different types of roads during the week, I am astonished at how perfect the car seems now.

This is how it should have been back in May 2006 when I picked it up from the OPC. I had always had some concern in the back of my mind that all was not right with the wheel alignment but had no reference point to compare it against. It was just that on tight corners at speed I was not confident that the car was glued to the road.

I didn't raise it with the OPC early on as I couldn't believe that a Porsche could be released to a customer with the wheel alignment way out. I had the alignment done at Wembley Tyres for £70+VAT (the alignment check is free). That's the best £82.25 i've ever spent on the car. It feels like a brand new car and fills me with confidence when taking corners at speed.

I feel that all Porsches should come with a 'before' and 'after' printout from a 4-wheel alignment machine as part of the PDI process.
