Anyone seen this one , an S2 Ventiller Hybrid :)

Whatever the guy wants to call it and whatever the engine size actually is, one thing is for sure is that those blisters on the drivers cill won't simply be "cosmetic" [&:]

He states 'series two' - all oval dash cars were series two 944s. S2 is short for 'Super 2', not series two - this is the original 944 Super / 944S.

I got the series two bit m8ee but its had an S2/Turbo body conversion , look at the front for starters [;)]

Regards Mas

To be fair he doesn't call it an S2 but a series 2 which is I suppose is technically correct for all oval dash 944's. I cant imagine why you would want to do a front end conversion though, unless the original was damaged beyoynd repair. Someone has also gone to the trouble of fitting the plastic trim along the bottom of the wings/sills... bad idea, and probably one of the reasons why the sills are rotting.

And thats not a rare factory colour, thats a respray, you can see in the engine bay its just be a reg. Alpine White car to start with

Having heard of '80s dodgy car dealer techniques of putting a 5speed gearknob onto the gearlever of a 4speed Cortina, and selling for more than it's worth as a result, I wouldn't be surprised if it was an accident damaged 2.5 16v bodged together and passed on as an S2. In the early 90s it was probably worth doing if you were unscrupulous enough and could get away with it?

I should add that it doesn't look like the current seller is trying to palm it off as such.

Unless I'm mistaken, it clearly says in the advert that it is 2500cc. It does seem reasonably well described compared to some I've seen, and I have to agree, it is a very very rare colour for a 944, perhaps unique [;)]

The engine looks like an S2 engine, as does the bodywork or does the 944 S gave the same or a simmilar looking cylinder head???

Perhaps the owner has made a mistake in the ad description and it is really a 944 S2???

Definitely not an S2 lump, the intake manifold is quite different in shape and the location of the air filter housing is another giveaway.

The 16v S and S2 head are visually very similar, but as Peter states the manifold, AFM and airbox layout are the giveaways.

Looks like an S which has had a bit of bodywork. For any one of several reasons ...

Priced accordingly it could be a good car. But sills with more bubbles than a bottle of bolly would mean the price would have to be quite low.
