Whats the best product for blackening the rear spoiler ? Mine is a bit grayish looking and faded.

Thanks.

Smooth peanut butter.

I just use "back to black", or any other similar product that's on special offer.

Wouldn't peanut butter smell awful after being baked in the sun? And possibly attract all sorts of wildlife?

Aerospace 303 Protectant. Revives dry, grey rubber, vinyls and plastics. Works a treat on my cars. Protects from further UV damage.

Another vote here for Back to Black - I assume its the oil in the peanut butter that brings out the colour ? The aroma must be interesting mind you...

Carlack 68. This stuff is fantastic and 'lasts' for ages. I find Back to Black wears off in a week or two. You can also use it for all the interior plastics to get them looking like new i.e. it does NOT leave a horrid, shiny finish on plastic.
I get mine from here: Clean Your Car

Bought some of that carlack 68 ghost said about :)
You wont be disappointed. Leave it to soak fro a few mins before buffing off. Also use it on the dashboard to stop damage from the sun.

I just use ArmourAll for black stuff. Gives an amazing shine with very little effort but like most things you need to re-do it periodically.

hiya all, i believe autoglm do a good product for our spoilers?regards jason p

I use the autoglym black trim polish that I bought for my Wife's Scirroco GT in the mid '90s and it still works a treat!

Autoglym bumber care or vinyl and rubber care, then buff off with an old microfibre to remove the sheen. This will leave you with matt black sheen. Voila !

Used this on mine last year and it's still got a nice black finish to it (although it rarely goes outside for now). Used it on my old car before that and providing you take your time over the application of it then it generally lasts a while, looks good and smells pretty nice too.

Funny you asked because I was recently thinkng the same thing and found this http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=168906&highlight=gtechniq+c4

Gtechnc C4 is a permanant product that turns your black trim back to black for up to 2 years. I have just used it on my rear spoiler, wing mirrors, sill trim and door handles. Its not cheap at £19 a bottle but considering what it does its good VFM if you ask me. And the best thing is that you dont have to keep reapplying trim dressing every other wash, you just do it once and forget it for a year or 2.

Boot polish?

+1. Works very well, is cheap, and the wax means water blobs off for ever.

Its what I used to use, lasts ages costs next to nothing and the water just beads straight off. Its one of those things where its strange that ppl will spend tens of pounds on products when an easily available cheap product is available that is a doddle to apply and makes your spoiler look blacker then a very black thing.
