Hi Guys

After 3 long weeks my car is back! It's been to one of Alasdair's buddies in the bodywork trade to have both wing tips done, one sill repaired, one sill tidied before it needed repaired, one door done(was scratched), roof done (slight bubbling behind windscreen seal), panel above rear bumper done (slight bubbling started under the "S"), spoiler done (lacquer was flaking off) and both rear quarters done as starting to bubble slightly where they meet the rear panel. Also got a brand new windscreen, she got a full valet and polished up with carnauba wax to finish. Delighted was an understatement, looks absolutely fab now!

As much as I like my cat, he is not actually painted on!

And here's one from today when it started to rain immediately after I finished washing it!

Almost too good to drive..................fat chance!

Car looks great, if you don,t mind me asking how much did the job cost , My 944 s needs similar word to what you have had done,
They are made for driven,

+1 to the above , where abouts in the country you are and how much you paid would be really usefull. If the work is good and reasonably priced they deserve more custom and I'm always after a sprayer who isn't extortionate [;)]

Cheers

Actually, that could be all the rage this year. Chubby ginger-and-white cat painted onto the rear off-side panel of your car. A style which certainly has potential!

Wonder whether Rick could do some decals to this effect?

Thanks guys!

Not going to disclose exact prices but discounting the windscreen it was just into 4 figures. Got brand new screen fitted with seal for £180! They are in Glasgow and do a lot of classics and pretty much everything.

Blimey! Mine was nearer £500, albeit to the insurer, about 5 years ago.

Prices, particularly labour rates, are so much more reasonable outside the South East. [&o]

Funnily enough the guys who fixed the car have jobs, I have a job and all the other forum users I know from the Glasgow area have jobs.

Does your cat have a job as well? If not, how does she afford all the battered mars bars she seems to have been scoffing? [:)]

(For the avoidance of doubt, this is meant as a joke and not a slur upon the good people and cats of Glasgow. It's just that, owning an overweight lard-cat myself, I am used to spotting oversized cat waistlines. [;)] )

Tubby the cats 5 mins of fame! The windscreen was actually made from compressed Mars bar wrappers rather than the conventional glass, much cheaper and lighter!
Alasdair

Compressed and then deep fried - come on it is the west of Scotland. If that cat stays still like that for too long that'll get fried too!

Car looks good - mine has just come back from almost the same work. I'll let the interest die down a little before I post my pics!!

Sinilar Oli style caveat but I lived there for 3 years so have first hand experience [:)]

As Alasdair says, Tubby boy gets his 5 mins of fame! He's actally not that fat despite being called Tubby, it's a bad angle. The Mrs is horrified at what you are all saying about the poor lad!
