Here is the first picture. As requested on this board I will attempt to compile a comparison between the cars, if I can stop smiling[:)][:)]

"Happy motoring and keep smiling it looks fabulous" [8D]

Did see and touch the brand new Aston AMV8 yesterday at Goodwood, which I believe is a much fairer comparison all round and I must say seriously impressed with that British answer to the so far unbeatable 911 / 997

The picture is there (bit small but looks a lovely colour [8D])

Now lets hear the comparison.........[:)]

Congrats Nick it looks fabulous ! Enjoy ! You must keep us updated on how it is to live with it day to day. Are you planning to bring it to Le Mans next year with the club ?

Saw you cleaning the car earlier and then going past where they are buidling new house's just after the temporary traffic lights later in the day. Looks beautiful. guy at work has a blue DB9 and that looks and sound beautiful too. Off to Frankfurt in the morning so hoping to see the AMV8 and the Cayman at the motorshow if I get some in the flesh pictures that are any good I'll post them up.

uppy,
if you pass again and see me, stop and have a chat..

First thoughts:
Handover very professional, and detailed. Overall the car is well finished, but a few creaks and squeaks. The attention to detail is excellent in every department. Softer ride than the 997, however hates pot holes in the road, not as "planted" as the Porsche. Sound system less bassy than the Bose, much preferred. Bluetooth, voice activated phone system excellent. Power delivery fantastic, the flappy paddle gear box excellent (blips the throttle on down shifts, THE BEST) in Auto mode same as any car. At 4k revs valves open to increase the volume, what a fantastic sound!
Heated front screen distorts the view, and quite a lot of reflection from the dash. Round town, I was getting about 9/10mpg, but what fun.Seats very supportive, and good quality leather, lots of adjustment. Cabin smaller than the 997, the kids just get in the back with a bit of a squeeze, but they didn't complain much.
Going to Goodwood, so she what she's like on a run. Will up date

happy man so far...worth every penny[:)]

Did you guys see the new Jag XK in the flesh at Goodwood?
Looks to be a real competitor to the 911 at c.£60k.
Fabulous looks - very Aston influenced, of course.

Enjoy the DB9.

The Jag looks fabulous but I can't imagine it will be Porsche like to drive, more USA cruiser. Judging by the latest rantings from JC in Sunday Times Driving section refs AMV8 even he had to say as good as the AMV8 maybe its not as good as a 911 and Clarkson doesn't even like 911's [:D]

British answer to the 911 - I think you mean the half german answer to the 911 - the engine is built in cologne ans shipped over...
