Driving at night - Bi-Xenons and Auto-dimming Mirrors

I drove my Cayman S late at night for the first time last night! 99% of my driving is during daylight hours. I had ordered the Bi-Xenon lights and the Auto-dimming Mirrors options, but was regretting ordering these options as I didn't feel they would ever benefit me.

How wrong I was. Firstly, the interior of the car looks really good at night. Porsche has produced a very pleasant dashboard lighting system, even down to the downward-facing LED lights near the rear-view mirror. There's just a really nice white 'glow' inside the cabin at night.

Then there are the Xenon headlights. I was surprised at how bright and powerful (in terms of range) they actually are, even more so than my previous BMW 5-Series.

Finally, the Auto-dimming Mirrors worked far better than I expected. The ones on my 5-Series just basically went black if someone was behind you with their headlights on. These dim by variable amounts and still provide a good view.

So, if anyone is planning to specify these two options then they are quite good options.
