Flag Mirror Issue

Hi All

Already posted on TIPEC.

My driver side mirror has stopped moving left and right. Up and down still ok. Motor is still whirring away but I have noticed there is no resistance. The glass easily moves left and right by pushing it. Anybody had this issue before? Is it something just popped off maybe or more likely something broken?

Cheers in advance

Stuart

The platic arms that move have broken or worn or the motor gear is likewise. Easy fix. Alasdair should be able sort some parts for you.

Correct Rob! Tiny plastic control arm for left/right movement snapped. Replacement sourced, collect tomorrow!

Cheers

Bringing this thread back from the dead... anyone know where I might get these control arms? My 911 is having this issue and the flag mirror motor is the same as a 944.

I haven't seen one since 2014! First stop would always be your local Porsche centre, someone with access to PET will hopefully be along soon to let you know if the part is available separately. If not, there are plenty 2nd hand mirrors on ebay or at a breaker. About £40 looks like the going rate for a complete flag mirror.

PET only lists the entire mirror at a whopping cost of £349.86 inc VAT
