Fuel niggles

Anyone got a definitive list of things to check when you can smell neat fuel when the windows are open and it disappears when the windows are shut. Not rear hatch and I've resealed the rear lights. Also the fuel or something in the rear right hand side gurgles. Narrowed it down to low fuel and on startup, gradually fades on a run.
Many thanks

If you've eliminated exhaust fumes entering the cabin (boot seal, real lights) then the next most likely is corroded fuel lines under the car. I had mine replaced with suitable hose 5 years ago & they were still fine last time I checked.

Hi thanks for your reply, they have been replaced, the only thing I can think of is 'charcoal canister' but not sure if its applicable on my 86 T.

thats a good suggestion Paul[;)] I also thought it possible that the tank could have a leak ? Can't remember my 86 Lux now but the later cars certain'y have the top of the fuel tank in the boot well with an additional immersed fuel pump. Filling the tank right up might find a leak on a seam maybe ?

Worth removing the battery and checking the boot wells too . My Lux had some serious rust and holes under the battery unbenownst to me .
