Headlight Relay

Got round to installing my J-West headlight relay on Saturday, much easier job than I was anticipating. The lights do appear brighter and I am much happier knowing the power isn't all going through the little switch. I also upgraded the bulbs to some nice Osrams, now I wasn't paranoid about the power drain.

Just to note, the instructions that come with are biased towards the US wiring and ours (well certainly mine) had four wires going into the fuse board, not the two shown. So I, very carefully, took one wire at a time out, whilst the battery was connected to work out which two of the four actually powered the dip and full beam elements.

Overall very pleased, for a small investment.

Cheers
Mark.

Hi Mark, good to know it went well, J-West was an option I was considering. In the end I did my headlights with relays I bought online from the UK and 4 wires seems to ring a bell. If I remember there was also a wire that ran to the dash that lit the high beam warning light when the high beam headlights are on. Hopefully this is still attached as I think it's part of the MOT test. Steve
