Ewan - I know and have driven Ron's and I would strongly suggest you check it out.....you'd have to go a long way to find a better example with a proper history and modest miles.
It is a long way from you, but then isn't the one you want always at the other end of the country?

Typical. When you bought it I would have snapped it up first but didn't have the cash at the time. Now it's up again I'd bite your hand off but I've already got an S2. [

It wasnt on the cards-but while at Le Mans Classic i bumped into an old pal with a Boxster which he
was selling and in the heat of the moment I decided to buy it- it was about 44 degrees centigrade
at the time.
Actually Paul I was going to ask your advice at evening track event on monday re value etc.
I wasnt thinking of advertising it for a coupleof weeks as coming to Silverstone Classic in it.
It was only Ewans thread that made me mention it.
Cheers
Ron
PS- I will still come to Porsche events in my inferior Boxster
PPS- thanks Mas yes its a lovely colour, from the code they seem to call it Dove blue some years and
Baltic blue others.

In my list LM5P is always Dove Blue and Baltic doesn't exist. [&:]
See you Monday!

If you are talking the 6 grand bracket then the redone on now on P.H 'could' be a gooden. The exhaust and suspension are expensive upgrades in themselves plus its a 1990 low miles . Of course it needs questions/checking.
Regards Mas
That actually does look very nice, is there anybody known that does porsche inspections ? As obviously a bit far away from me

Peter Morgan. I believe he has agents all over the country but I'd be interested to know whether that's right.
Inspections have their place, but I'm not sure how proportional they are. I had one on a Volvo 740 Turbo, as the seller suggested he'd reduce the price if the local Volvo specialist found any issues. As a result, I paid about £100 for a report that showed me it had a certain tread depth on tyres, lights worked, one door didn't operate the interior lights, that type of thing. Oh, and it needed all new discs and pads. £400 off the price, and I sold it after about 30K with one set of pads in between, I think near the end of my ownership, so that was rubbish. An MOT would have been as much use, an MOT with me getting chatty with the inspector and getting a good look around the car would be great. An inspection on any 944 might just be too depressing, as they are so over-critical to cover themselves.
Don't know where you are, or the car, but there are plenty of good indies who will give it a look over on the ramp for about an hour's labour if the seller will take it there for you. A bit of me wants to suggest that if the seller would agree to take the car for a local inspection he's probably pretty straight. [8|]
One thing to avoid is any of the inspection services offered by the major players, such as AA or RAC. They will have no knowledge of the potential problems on a 944. Better to get a local owner to have a look, at least most of us know enough to give an impartial view.

I had an inspection done on a car I had bought (admitedly a free one ) by a rubbish Porsche specialist once and it was a joke ! , they actually missed some major stuff.
I took the same car to another specialist who found everything in the same time I.E a 30 min look over and as he showed me it I realised even I could have spotted it if I had a ramp.
The only indspection I would trust would be one carried out by a 'decent' Porsche specialist and there are some dodgy ones of those too !
If it were me I would ask all the right questions on the phone and get some high res pics of things that might potentially concern me. If I were to want to buy it then I would negotiate a price but only subject to a satisfactory inspection at a local Porsche specialist.
It might be worth finding out where in London he is as a forum user 'might' look at it for you just to get an initial idea , if they were nearby maybe they would find it interesting.
All just thoughts. I might be looking for an S2 for something at the min [

Simon just gave it a service- more of a check over for our Le Mans Classic trip and
while there changed the oil sender valve- new oil and filter.
Ran like a dream down to Le Mans and back.
