Hi. Ive recently sold my 987 Boxster and bought a 1986 944. The boxster was a 2005 and I paid about £500 a year insurance. My insurance for the 944 is due soon and I thought i'd see what quotes i'd get. Amazingly most are the same as the Boxster! I cant understand why it is the same? I am using my 944 as an everyday car, not a second car. I do 6k miles per year. Does anyone know of a company who are reasonable in this siuation? Thanks.

I just gave them a try, since you seemed to get a decent deal. They quoted me £3,500+. Er … no thanks.

you don't say how old you are or perosnal details, but don't forget that if you are using regular insurance companies they simply see another group 18 car which is why it will be the same. As a guide, I'm with Chaucer on a classic policy, 8k a year SD&P garaged no no claims to use £297 for the year Fully Comp. Its a very basic policy bought through sureterm, but it works for me

Still seems a little expensive considering my policy is unlimited mileage, only car, kept on street in London, agreed value and fully comp for £364. Classic line say they just dont have claims from 944 owners in London, lets just hope it stays that way... Edd
