Well, I thought I had fixed teh oil leak on the turbo, changed the seals on the oil feed to the turbo, oil pressure restored - 4 Bar on idle... tried it up the road, fine, check that it boosts OK (have had a problem with that in the past), fine, then sudden loss of power, sudden vibration, cloud of smoke out of the back of the car, drop in oil presure.
Hmmm guess I didn't fix it then, and what ever was thinking of breaking is now "propper broke". Oil is once again pouring down that side of the engine (easy to see this time as I had cleaned it all up under there...
My biggest fear is that if it is, as I suspect, something on the turbo gone bang, it is on the inlet side and it has gone through the engine causing further damage... Will a turbo really cause that much noise and vibration when it lets go?
So... If a K26-6 turbo comes up (anyone upgrading?)... any idea what I should pay for a good second hand one? I presume they should be relatively easy to come by? what do I look for? End float?
