Kuhmo KU31s

Apologies for yet another "what tyre" thread but I need four new tyres for my 944T (Front: 205/55/ZR16, Rear: 225/50/ZR16) and Kumho KU31s are significantly cheaper than either Falken 452's or Toyo Proxes T1-Rs. I've used KU31s on another car (BMW 530i) and liked them, and they get good feedback from the Lotus community, but there is precious little info online about anyone using them on 944s.

Has anyone got any experience?

I am having a fair few jobs done to my car this week and am keen to save money where possible but, of course, not at the expense of performance/safety.

A few friends of mine have used them (not on 944's though) & have recommended them.

Hi,
Had them fitted to my 944 Turbo found them really OK seemed to grip the road well in all weathers and wear rate was good, for the price good value[:D]

Had them on the rear of my S2 they were quite good in the dry interesting in the wet but probably more down to wear and age than the tyre itself, replaced them with Toyo T1Rs as they were cheaper at the time.

Thanks chaps. I will give them a go. I'll update this thread with some feedback at a later date so there is a bit more info for the next person looking.

I've been through several KU31's on both the S2 and Turbo and really rate them as a very good road tyre for a budget price. Good wear, good grip and a reasonable lifespan. I've just replaced the fronts on the S2 this weekend, best price for 17" fronts was £65 each fully fitted and balanced etc

Change of plan. Either the prices have changed or I selected the wrong tyres before but Falken 452s are coming out marginally cheaper and seem more of a known quantity so I am going with them instead!

Thanks all for your thoughts.
