Anyone thinking of going ? myself and another 944 are going catching the ferry from Dover to Bolougne early Thursday evening and stopping over nearby TBA then down to Le Mans on Friday.
We are booking through First Tickets £113 for camping and race ticket, grandstands tickets etc extra should you require them.
First tickets have intimated that a group camping area could be arranged at Kart Nord and a possible discount for 10 bookings +
They have said they will hold some tickets back to guage numbers (M Moores party) it would be great to have a 944 area, if interested i can be contacted on 07799 620 381 Days 01946 786129.
Cheers All Jim.

Yes I'm booked to go, going with travel destinations camping at Château d'Eporcé. Will be my first time at Le Mans, plan is to extent our trip following the race weekend and drive to Lausanne Switzerland, onto northern Italy through the Alps and then back via Black Forest in Germany and maybe Nurburgring or Spa on the way. A 19 day trip in all, so should be a good'n[:D]. Porsche's are for driving so thats what I intend to do...[8D] Edd

Edd, i thought Germany was stunning and look where i am from, never been to Italy but always fancied it.............enjoy.

Were leaving on the Tuesday before and driving to Paris, then the Millau bridge and back up the Le Mans for the weekend. ***The plan has changed. I'm now leaving on Monday 5th after work and staying Calais for the night. Next morning off to Stuttgart, stay in Stuttgart for the night. Wednesday morning off to the Porsche museum then to Switzerland in the afternoon, Furka pass, Gotthard Tunnel then the dam which James Bond jumped off at the start of Golden eye (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verzasca_Dam) and I plan to stay in Locarno. Then across France to the Millau bridge and stay the night. Then up to Le Mans for the classic on the Friday or Saturday depending on the car and me........****

ooh what discount? I'm looking good for a group with 5 definates already + your numbers and many more to confirm[:)] Never stayed in Kart Nord though. Thats the inner circuit one you access from the bottom of the circuit under the bridge right? Below Houx? Not the one right at the bottom miles walk from everyone which we nicknamed the trenches?

Hi all, Going to Classic -leaving Folkstone about 8am Thurs-I was wondering if anyone has an idea of route as not gone to Le Mans from this direction would prefer not autoroute- or do i just join the queue of brit cars. Going with Grandstand Motorsports, with infield parking, track laps etc. Staying at Campanille Arnage. Where is a good vantage point for the night racing- want to see the 917 exhaust flames. Is there going to be a PCGB presence in any way. Hoping someone can give me any advice on this- happy to join up if any convoys/groups around same time. Cheers Ron

I'm travelling down on Friday morning, but the hotel I had booked has just cancelled! So now desperate for accommodation. Any ideas?

We're staying in an Etap thu night. If your going Friday morning why not just drive straight through? That's what I've done the last 5-6 times. p.s. Has anyone got their tickets through yet? I would have thought they'd have come by now given that we've already had regular Le Mans but all I have are some receipts so far!!? p.p.s We're a group of 6 now 4 in a Jag (not to be underestimated as its over 500hp), and two in my 944 (which I still haven't actually picked up yet!)

No problem with driving straight there, just need accommodation when we get there. And no I've not yet got my tickets through yet. Cheers

I'm off on Friday in a mates 928S4, 7am on the Tunnel. Whats the score with the supposed dress code for the pits area? According to the bumpf its meant to be no bermuda shorts etc - not that I own any. Is it strict or could I get away with vest top, handkerchief and socks with sandals?

[:D] I hear its 'relatively' relaxed but I have bought myself some appropriate clothes for fun:) Frenchy I will call you soon sorry. Thought maybe we could meet at the silverstone services on the M1

When I went in 2006 you couldn't get in the paddocks in shorts - although once you got through the gate no-one seemed to mind. (we managed to "share" a pair of long trousers to get thought the gate... [:D]) We had tickets for a grandstand on the outside of the pit straight, but we sat on the other side for practice, & managed to get to quite a few different spots over the course of the racing. You have fantastic access to all the stands during night / early morning when there are no staff restricting access. Try the stands at the Ford curves as you see some great action as the cars come through, and the exhaust lights all the way up the pit straight.

We are going down on thursday 10:20 Eurostar & back 16:00ish back. Unfortunately the 944 we were going down in is Hors de combat as of sunday & mine urgently needs a belt service. So we're taking the Jag S-Type down, nowt to do with having climate, fuel paid for & a nice comfy leather interior I assure you!Staying on the TIPEC TD site at Hundanaires.

We are staying in Maison Blanche 3 944 T-1 968-1 Cayenne Turbo and a Boxster and a BMW come say hello and have a glass ! Setting off 8.00 the morrow.
