No more hatch squeak! the reason; a new main boot seal. got it off ebay from frazerpart. was provided as a loop which i had to cut because a) i couldnt figure out how to remove the demister wire and b) it was about 5 inches too long.

1st drive in relative peace was bliss.

Also Got the 'mandatory glove box spare' DME relay off them which was cheaper than id seen it anywhere else at £23.

Think the car may actually be watertight (for the time being of course) as the spare wheel well was dry for the 1st time after some heavy Glasgow weather.

The list is still long, but its always nice to cross something off :)

I bought mine from Bert - and phoned him because I thought it was too long. He told me not to trim it as it would go on fine with a bit of persuasion. He was right (I think Bert always is...). You need to make sure plenty of seal goes into the top corners.

Yep i took it off twice and nearly broke my thumbs trying to get it into the corners more. it was still waaaay too long. measured it against the original one. I'll be sure to update if it shrinks.

cost was £60 plus £9.95 PnP got some other stuff at the same time to save on postage.

My new hatch seal didn't cure my squeak [&o], so am hoping new hatch pins and socket rubbers may do the trick.

Try a company called C O H Baines. You'll get the rubber from them for about £25 rather than £60! I have the catalogue number somewhere. You can do a search of the COH Baines catalogue online to cross reference things if I can't find it,

Think my hatch rubber was £30 inc PP from Porscheshop. You can buy the pins without the rubber surrounds for very litttle from an OPC, I replaced my pins the surrounds, the pin seals, hatch seal and the locks which hold the pins, the pins were from Frazerpart Porsche about £14ea the pin locks were from my local OPC less than £48 delivered for the pair, the seals were from Porscheshop.

The most effective thing to hold my hatch down was the new pins and locks once adjusted.

Got mine replaced the last time it was at GT One in Chertsey.. got it from OPC for a very good price (cant remember how much tho). Unlike the origional which was a long lenth - the new ones from Porsche are a complete circle and fit perfect, with the added bonus of no gap so when it does shrink - you dont have a gap in the seal.

Cured my slight rattle - and leak when I jetwashed the hatch.
