New poor mans Porsche....?

Would be interesting to know more about who was behind that. Looks very similar to the way car designs are worked up in the design studio before production to get ideas of how they'd look. Must have had some very accurate information to work from to get the genuine bits to fit !

The beast can be seen in action here http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=22002

He's got the hang of clipping the apex.

Amazing. How many hours work went into that? Could probably have bought the real thing if he's been out earning instead...[:D]

Brilliantly creative but given another 40 years this will probably be replacing the current Gt3 Rs

such skill! fantastic.
Did anyone notice that ferdinand was wearing 2 gold watches?

Fantastic, have you seen how flat it sits through the corners!! looks like it las impressive handling lol

Great stuff, thanks for sharing [:D]

Yes, it is an amazingly accurate copy of the skin of a 911, just one thing bothers me though...build quality

The tubular frame of the car seems to be held together with parcel tape! I wouldn't trust that even for cycling.
If he welded the structure he could have got away with a lot less tubes, and then possibly forming the shape out of sheet aluminium.

Seeing that video reminded me of the Top Gear episode where Hammond was supposedly hypnotised into believing a childs pedal car was his brand new 911 turbo.

I suspect the frame is not structural so the parcel tape doesn't need to add that much by way of structural rigidity other than to hole the thing together. The number of tubes used is probably to get a better shape as there are not many straight lines or flat areas on a 997. I think they even used parcel tape for the skin of the body too.
