Hi guys,

Thought some of you might get a laugh out of this short video clip.

We had a meeting of our local Porsche Club the other evening. JET951 / Sean and his Dad Bruce were asked to bring some examples of front engined cars and give a talk about them to a group of 50 or so mostly rear engine owners. The meeting is held in a local Porsche dealership coincidentally where Bruce worked as a young man before opening his own business some years ago. Anyway the evening went well and Bruce spoke very knowledgeably for an hour or so to a sometimes mystified but mostly engrossed group, many of whom had scarcely contemplated these cars we love. I took a brief bit of film just to show this odd looking gathering of cars in the showroom. Amongst GT3's, Caymans, Boxters, Panameras, 997s and even a bright Red 599 Fezza there were two 1986 944 turbos, a pristine 944 n/a (belonging to Prof. Frederico) and Bruce's very tidy 1986 928 S4. Lot's of Q&A afterwards. At one stage I had about 10 guys around my car all asking me how fast, how much, what is this shiny bit, how can you run with such wide wheels up front etc...
A fun evening.

I love the wild rear spoiler and lightweight hatch!I think the old cars have a real exotic look about them but then i am biased!

It made me think actually...

If your spoiler is well designed, it should be possible to hold it in place with nothing more than a couple of suction cups - you know, good design being very little drag and lots of downforce:) Who is feeling brave?!

How-ever... it doesn't say a lot for the standard spoiler... because if that worked well, hatch-pins would never rattle!

What a great selection, and how shiny are those Turbo's [8D]
Shows you just how efficient Showroom lighting is. While our cars were clean, they weren't nearly as glimmering as the film would have you believe. Especially the shot of Sean's engine bay. It was actually quite dirty in person. [:)]
