Hi,

Just noticed today in my s2 when i got in there was a little red round light activated on the switch with a little key shape down by the rear wiper switch. I also noticed the passenger door did not unlock with the remote and when I looked at the passenger door handle outside it was stuck in... has someone tried to open passenger door and the switch light was warning me of this ? What is that switch and why would a red light come on it ?

Thanks.

That switch is the internal central locking switch. If you toggle it then it should lock/unlock the doors from inside the cockpit. I think it should be red when they are locked.

What Rob says, must have been knocked, with the light on central locking is engaged while you are in the car.

Surprised you didn't hear the clunk its bloody loud most of the time lol

I found that when I locked/unlocked the car with the key then I had no problems with the functioning of the central locking, but which that in-dash switch my passenger door also seem to have problems requiring you to toggle it a couple of times to get both doors either locked or unlocked. Just put it down to one of those strange idiosyncrasies that these cars can sometimes have.

Mine was always problematic too. Hence the reason why I disabled it and used the feeds for something useful like a nice after market boost gauge [:)]
