I'd not worry about that myself, lots of people use e-bay rarely, and have to have a first time. More concerning is the n/s sill, if it's not just a bad photo. If the work at the last service was £8K worth of major stuff it's not overpriced by as much as it looks, but it would have to be good bodywork and a tidy interior as well. Unlikely at that mileage.ORIGINAL: ghost And the seller has zero feedback score. Something is just not right. Fishy?

I'd guess that an insurance valuation on a truly "concourse" Silver Rose would be nearer £15k. I know that's going to be seen as stupidly high by some people, but there's a reasoning behind it. First, you have to find a replacement car in the best condition possible. There aren't more than a few cars for sale at any time, and most of them will be needing money spent on them. Let's say you pick up a reasonable car for £5k, to bring it to concourse it'll probably need a glass-out respray along with masses of minor detailing, let alone mechanical work. I know that none of you are under any illusion about the cost of bringing any classic car up to concourse standard. Ask anyone who's actually brought a car up to winning condition and they'll break down in tears if you suggest their car was written off and they had to do it again. [8|] Excepting the fact that this car looks like it's needing serious cosmetic work, I'm not sure that £10K on a rare turbo is a high price to pay. There are plenty of people here who've bought cars for half that, but ended up spending as much again.ORIGINAL: Chris Charlton Just love the adv. Mine has done 98K , virtually a garage queen only just short of concours. I will happily sell it for £10 less than this even though I love it to pieces!! When concours I must get a PCGB valuation.

There is a link in the faqs to a German supplier who has the fabric for sale, along with other seat materials. [8|]I have what I am told is the only remaining original silver rose trim material
The joker will be the person who buys it at anywhere near that price. I suppose you can't blame the seller for trying his luck. Out of interest, what sort of premium does a silver rose command over a good later 250bhp turbo ?ORIGINAL: sc0tty 214000 miles? Jeez what a joker, I wouldnt pay more the 3k for that shed.

I haven't picked it up yet but I've left a deposit[ORIGINAL: ukmastiff In answer to that question , I would pay more for a non Silver Rose as I genuinely wouldn't want to drive round with that interior but thats just a personal view. Im not mad keen on the actual Silver Rose paintwork colour either. A slight diversion I know but that Garnett Red ( as in Ben's car I think) now that is a tasty colour for a Turbo !.

Replace it! Rose Silver isnt a bad colour (or at least, it wasnt when new) and I didnt struggle with the colour as my very first series two car had a burgundy dash and other plastic trim, so I was already used to it. As an aside, not all M758 cars had red-based trim and not all M758s were Rose Silver. Ideally now Id opt for a later Guards and black car.ORIGINAL: ukmastiff In answer to that question , I would pay more for a non Silver Rose as I genuinely wouldn't want to drive round with that interior but thats just a personal view. mas, i always get confused with the garnet red, is that the same colour as maraschino cherry? as i believe copenhagen blue and nordic blue are,. my fav 944 colours are the garnet/cherry colour alongside white and g/red although keeping red without a fullspray is getting slightly tiring regards jason pORIGINAL: ukmastiff Yes m8ee I think thats the car , where was Bens ad. Apologies if I have the wrong colour in my head but I thought that car was Garnet Red ?? ( which is a Porsche colour) , Bloomin lovely colour anyway what ever it is in my opinion. Regards Mas
