Sports Exhaust

Once upon a time there was a very loyal Porsche customer who wanted a sports exahust fitted to his Cayman S. Rather than take up a kind offer of a retro fit from Porscheshop he decided to have the real McCoy factory fitted option. So that meant ordering a new Cayman S. Of course this mean a loss of some £6K in depreciation, but hey ho, it's only money.

His very freindly OPC quoted Jan build (suited him) as the Sports Exhaust (option XLF) was not available until Jan build. Imagine his disappointment when told that had slipped to Feb build.

Sadly, more pain was in store for our enthusiast! He was told that the vehicle would be delivered with a normal exhaust system and the dealership would fit the factory fitted item (lost me yet?). After some discussion, he reluctantly agreed to this less than satisfactory state of affairs, especially when told that no additional cost would befall him.

Duly the Cayman arrived and so did the sports exhaust kit. However, all was not sweetness and light. The OPC could not fit the sports exhaust as they had no fitting instructions and wisely decided not to guess how the complex wiring was installed. Some weeks later, OPC's are still waiting for that little bit of paper!

So......... my car is here, my sports exhaust is here... but sadly chaps I am still unable to tell you how it sounds.

Apparantly I am told that 32 other cusomers are in the same boat.
