Stolen Cayman S

My home was burgled on Tuesday evening, primarily for my car keys but also any small valuable items they could find on the way through. The Porsche and Mercedes are gone.

Typical MO in my area, burgle the house for the car keys and my cars are in clear sight of the road outside the house. It takes 20 minutes or so for police to arrive when a house has a burglar alarm anyway.

Lots of hassle with insurance companies, closing all finance accounts, etc. Unlikely to get cars back, they're probably on their way to the docks in a container by now. In a way, I prefer that to being stolen by the neighbourhood drug addict idiots.

The worst, as everyone says, is the loss of irreplacable personal items. My father's letters to my mother when they were young (wrapped up in ribbons, so presumably looked sufficiently like legal documents to take), my grandfathers' service medals. Partner's jewellery from her first husband (she's a widow) and family.

Not quite a year of Porsche ownership ended on a sour note!

Edit: Reg is PA55 CAY, and won't be on a new car for 12 months, I think, given DVLA rules. First time I've had a car depart without ever having an oil change or service!
