Where is this oil coming from?

ORIGINAL: James Ball

A separate and unrelated question - my car runs lumpily on part throttle around 2000 rpm, almost as if were on out of tune carbs. Any obvious culprits?

Might be worth doing a thorough check of all your vacumn pipes and connectors for a split or hole . Maybe pull them apart to check and re-connect. Sounds like maybe a leak somewhere in the inlet
Various ways you can test in-situ. You can spray with propane gas or carb cleaner apparently ! sooner you than me lol

That does ring a bell Mas. I have a memory like a seive. Good to get confirmation as to what the 'leak' is, ta.

I would ditto re the potential for a small vacumn leak. Mind you someone more experience could tell me what about changing leads cap and plugs ? , have you put the new set of plugs in yet that I put in the glovebox for you. Also only asking but is this obvious or are you maybe just looking for little sounds etc as we all do.
I ask as Promax got it running smack on the dot a few miles before you picked it up.

Regards

Mas

The stutter on part-throttle is not terrible but is definitely present. I haven't fitted the spark plugs but thanks for putting them in the glove box!
