F890 OYO 944 Turbo S - anyone seen it in recent years?

Hello All

I used to own F890 OYO a rare beast it was! A Turbo S but in special order Nautic Blue Metalic. One I wish I had kept and not modified at all.

I fitted a bridge spoiler rear hatch, 968 mirrors and 968 alloy wheels, steering wheel and a carbon fibre front splitter. Had new front wings and most of the car repainted.

It was about 16/17 years ago I sold it and was just wondering if anyone on here owns it or has ever seen it.

The dvla MOt service shows it is still on the road, but doing about 300 miles a year currently.

Cheers

Lee

Lee,
Good luck with the search, I have a black one which I bought back around 18 years ago.

I’ve checked the 944 register and it’s not owned by a current club member.
Thanks very much for checking. I sold it to a solicitor, I think he will lived north of Manchester and that was the last time I knew of its whereabouts.

Welcome back - How was the Maserati experience?
from the mot history looks like your old car isn't doing many miles

Hi Tony
Cheers for the welcome and like you I had checked the MOT history and see it has done very little mileage.
I was lucky with the Maserati experience as bought a couple of models from other enthusiasts.
Had a 3200 GT for six years. Amazing with its 3.2 V8 Twin Turbo and straight through stainless rear boxes.
Sold that and bought a Gransport.
That was lovely with its NA 4.2 V8 and flappy paddle manual. Had that two years and then sold it and moved to Scotland.
Although I always keep an eye on 944 Turbos. 🤣

Good to hear, almost talked my wife into a 3200GT but she decided she needed more practicality! I do think Quattroporte look like excellent value but don't really have a use for one!

The 3200 was very practical.
Full 4 seater with proper adult size seats in the back. Boot was reasonable. But running costs can be eye watering. Maserati are not producing many parts these days, so sourcing bits can be problematic. But they are a beautiful place to sit and those boomerang rear lights are a thing of beauty 🤣

Although my 944 was great for two people, two mountain bikes and a weekends kit. Now that is practical….

My dad had Gray Paul’s ex-demo Gransport, depreciation was eye-watering (about £1k a month IIRC), running costs were horrendous (new clutch at £5k after 18 months), but it sounded amazing, looked great and made everyone smile - that’s what it’s all about really isn’t it!
