£150K Worth Of 993

Probably about right in the current climate...find another etc.....

Interesting that someone has fitted seat belts and some nice carpeting into it though [:(]

Do remember that guys paid 35% duty ...............i just happened to see it last year its really nice but the sums still dont work!

From the photos it looks like a CS, you would need to check for M003 on build stickers and cage.

I understand from a couple of sources there were 22 genuine factory M003 CS made (?)
If you look here; http://www.gtclassics.co.uk/previouscars.htm

Looking at the turquoise GT2 previously sold, it states;
" 1 of only circa 20 M003 specification 993 GT2s ever made."

So it may well be nearer 20 than 37???

Sounds about right,[:D]
I try to keep on top of these numbers but there is so much confusion, people assume just because something is written on the internet it must be correct !?

The car wiv a pretty pattern on is a cs , with design studio painting on it may be 1 of 2 for PR......................i believe a GT2 of this era has already gone through at £200k , look at the Euro rate .............certainly low mileage or vetry unusal trading over £150k and a high mileage car sold in UK recently just over £100k ....................funny now its gone everyone 'rushing' back to buy it !
The race car in Japan is an unknown quantity , wat wud u do with it , seems once u drive it value even less ceratin ....................if i had the money wud nt mind trying to find out!

As to how many clubsports , there were nt 37 ! Max 27 i think actually 17 ........................i ve even asked Jurgen Barth and he s not sure , or unusually wont say , the factory wont say so who knows?

Porsche, you have to love 'em.

How many did we make ? Dieter, Thomas, --- Klaus ? that makes 10 ... now who else did we have on the line that week (month / year ...)

Am i correct in saying that a clubsport is basically a normal road car BUT with the clubsport package option ticked when ordered from new?

would this imply that the porsche numbers would only show how many cars were built and would not split them down to with and without the CS option? for example i assume they would not have numbers for cars ordered with or without air con.

numbers seem very low that I have seen on forums, 172 993 GT2 + 30odd EVO's in 98 so just over 200 cars in total of which 120 race cars, meaning 50 early lightweight cars + 30 more bhp evo cars. How many are no longer with us too.

If only just over 50 road cars in teh early batch surely less than 50% would have had the CS option ticked which would imply nearer the 17? Not that it matters and that speed yellow car looks the nuts.

Last thing, South Africa cars would usually be RHD? so assume this car was imported in at some point.

Mike , its 172 plus race cars and only 21 Evos in '98...............no idea how they do the oreder but AFAIK all came with aircon and radio standard inc CS s ........we all know a couple did nt have aircon, special order?U work for the Germans u shud understand the thinking by now ! M03 denotes cs .............remember welded cage from Fac, pretty important, then mainly added lightness!Evos diff cams and kk24 standard no lightweight doors............

That car would in all probability have belonged to Bruce Joelson who was the Elne sewing machine importer among other things.
He also has a 993GT2 race car plus a few other nice toys. A really nice fellow and I spoke with him recently on trying to unearth a 911 2.7Rs RHD for me.

LHD v RHD. I believe that all the Cup cars are LHD, all 964RS M003 / Clubsport / N-GT are LHD, some 993RS M003 / Clubsport were RHD (7 for the UK ?) and 993 GT2 ? 996GT3RS are of course RHD and LHD in whatever numbers were built --- though some suggest they are quite rare cars even though there are around 130 ? in the UK.

Is it possible to fill in the gaps ? Does it matter ?

LHD sit straight, RHD sit slightly to the left and the pedal box area is smaller...

I believe there were 13,993 GT2 , RHD globally of which 6 were initially imported into the UK ...............I AM NOT AWARE OF ANY RHD,CLUBSPORT DOES NT MEAN THERE ARE NT ANY ?? Iin fact i am almost sure PH once told me there was a Riviera blue one at least ?

As far as I am aware there is only 1 Blut orange 993GT2 CS in the UK and there is a nice write up along with some other nice kit in CAR mag - just out

VC - nice smile in the main shot...[:D]
