£535 Service!??????????

Hi Guys.

Need your advice - i bought my boxster 2.5 last year with 12k on the clock. The last owner bought it brand new but it was his 3rd car - so he covered less that 5k a year.

As a result he used to get the yearly servicing done - every year, by Porsche. It was last done as a condition of my sale @ 12k. (oil, brake fluid etc).

I have been driving the car alot more and have covered 7k in 7 months - it has now just turned 19k. Just phoned Porsche - they say it needs the 24k service with plugs, oil, filter, brake fluid etc @ a cost of £535 !!! is this right?????

Brake fluid is a seperate cost item. I had it done at 2 years but this was on top of the service cost.
Oil is not usually changed as part of the "annual service", only on the 12,000 mile service (and multiples thereof).

£535 looks right if they are doing what you say, but is what they say what is needed? If it had the 12000 mile service (as specified in the maintenance booklet) then another annual service is all that is needed if it has only done 7000 miles since.

Not much of a consolation but remember you get a 10% discount for being a PCGB member. Check with your garage if that covers parts and labour (it does at my OPC).

Unfortunately, for the 24k service that price is about right. Wait till you get to the 48k service![:(]

Or indeed the 36,000 plus pads, exhaust heat shield, washer pipe refitting and probably paying for the entire OPC to go to the Bahamas for a fortnight - £1,200 OUCH! Pass the broomhandle.....

[]

The stealer tried the same with me except it was for the 48K service[] I had only covered 8K in the year so after getting the info from this Forum, stated that I wished only to have the annual service as required and stated in the front of the service book. Oh!!
£350.00 still....

Bon Soir,

Sounds about right, my last 12000 mile service £585 with nothing really special done. £45 an hour by a classic car specialist, not OPC...but very well reputed.

Sorry not your model but just a thought,

KEITH SCZ
