£6k for a 968 cab?

Just can't believe they will go this cheap ...

I suspect that it's not being advertised by someone who knows the cars, the comment "in the desirable blue" is a good start.....[&o]

I guess that he'll have some money in his pocket at the end of the auction, though, which is probably more use to him than not selling for a higher price. The only way to sell an average car now is to be very keenly priced.

"[Just can't believe they will go this cheap ]"

Yes i can.. Unfortunately, its the sign of the times...
Then again, it is poss a reasonable price for the condition + the seller doesnt seem to be being greedy..
If it needs a new hood, which he says its "worn" then budget around £1000 for that, That takes it to £7400.
Then factor in a good service.. another poss £1000+++, taking to £8400++, + it probably about right for a 140Kmiler...with 16" wheels, as the cup1-2,s will set you back another £1000 with tyres...making it £9400....Add on some paintwork.????? + it might then stand you at over £10k..??????
My 968 cabrio was on the market for 14months...[8|][8|][8|], until THE right person came along who knew the value of the items i had replaced...I WASNT prepared to sell it cheap...
Although in the end it went for just under £10k...

I totally agree that 968s are average, Paul. [:D]

Now I'm at work, and while I can tell this one isn't black, what is "the desirable blue" in question? Cobalt?

Seriously, it doesn't sound like a particularly nice car, it has miles that might well put a lot of people off, it's a cab and you guys are just heading into winter (both seasonally and economically it would seem) so I'd suggest that's probably priced to sell.

It was only a matter of time before the 968 started to be valued in context with the 944 and Boxster.

Well Cheap ! , If I had the money I would add it to my collection . Bought my wife a Golf Cabriolet 2.0 Colour concept last Xmas for 4K , but that 968 Cab at 6.5K in manual is a lot better car and great value for money . I think the owner maybe has highlighted all the negative points too much , looking at the 968 on the pictures it seems to be a nice genuine straight car , the rear screen faded can be easily restored . I think some owners forget the age of the vehicles now on an L Plate , they do not allow for gracefull ageing , he should of pointed out the positive things about the 968 Cab , that it is a true classic up there with the E30 M3 , Lancia Integrale or the 944 Turbo's , they will always be appealing cars and gorgeous looking cars at that , so should maintain a bottom price and increase in value with age and condition , Hopefully !.
