Well I am not an expert, but that is high mileage. Subsequently it could be a moneypit. Or it could be fine, nobody knows, but for myself I would not buy a 996 with that sort of mileage, thats just my opinion. Is my eyesight correct or did it do 34000miles between 2010 and 2011? It would be hard for you to re-sell as well. There are plenty of 996s for sale, you can find one with much lower mileage. Good Luck whatever you decide.

With all due respect perhaps a stronger magnifying glass, as I took the final service mileage to be 134,999, but then I am due a visit to V.....n Express too. If it's 134,000 odd then yes thats a bit high but the gearing on a 996 is about 28.5 mph per thousand revs so engine wise mentally reduce that figure by 17% compared to something like a 944. Cofffin arms might be an issue but for any Carrera to cover that may miles I venture to suggest that the RMS and IMS issues are absent from this car or have been rectified (in truth only about 7% of total production suffered this affliction) so from that point of view providing it has been regularly serviced and properly maintained with respect to suspension components and steering, this car might be worth a punt. As ever though, surf around and compare asking prices and mileages to get an idea of whats what. I have already posted about my six month search to find the right 996T, but I don't regret a minute of it. The old adage of marrying in haste and repenting at leisure is equally true of buying any car.

I have just looked on Auto Trader and this car is on there with 149,000 miles on the clock. Ok it is the post 2002 model but in the 11,000 to 13,000 bracket I selected I found two older cars at 11k one with 54,000 one with 69,000 and a cabriolet all lower mileage and less dough, admittedly with the original front end, so it depends on whether low mileage or frontal aspect floats your boat. As I have said before, "you pays oyur money.....".

Maybe I need to visit Specsavers too, but it looks like it went 30,000 miles between services early on in its life (21k to 51k). That said, it would appear the owner from that point onwards has taken care of it. He obviously trusts the garage, but I haven't heard of them as a Porsche specialist. The mileage will obviously put a lot of people off, so it needs to be taken into account, and I have no idea if £12k is cheap or not. From a suspension/wear items point of view, I don't think it makes any difference if it has done 100k or 150k. The only difference might be that they have been replaced twice instead of once. It is all down to engine and transmission.
