03 cayenne noise

Hi guys,

I have a 03 cayenne s that seems to be having a few problems... the most annoying one is a noise that sounds a little like a steam whistle on the inside while the car is driving from any speed above around 30mph up around 80% of the time! I think that the noise is coming from below the centre console (arm rest) area.

At first I thought maybe it was the air con blowing out somewhere and was whistling, however turning this off didnt help or didnt get any worse after turning it all the way up.

I have taken it into porsche and they drove it around however sods law the noise was not there when they drove it...

Has anyone else got this problem or have any idea what it could be?
 
Could possibly be a noise from the Cardan shaft, although I hope it's not......

Might be an idea to have a look on www.rennlist.com in the Cayenne section...
