03 piggy...steering problem

Think i have encountered my first problem!

While driving at parking speed...turning the wheel past quarter turn evokes an unsmooth ride from from front wheels and a clunk type noise from front of car. Car is on Porsche 20" rims.

My first thought was wheel bearing...but I'm not the expert. Any ideas guys..
 
I had the same on mine but it has gone quiet.
There is a thread on it .My guess was drive shafts

Its just like it happened over night, going into the garage was fine one day the next we have a loud nasty noise??
 
Yes sounds similar to mine but for some reason it is now quiet .

I am quite shocked the last time i had it was with an Austin 1100 or similar
 
Well I thought I'd give u all an update. Car has spent the last 2 days with RLR In thornaby - had the major 48k service done as well as the boot and glass rear hinges/hydraulic replace.

Clunking notice from front end was deemed to be a missing engine mount bolt!!

I've not driven it yet, but look forward to putting some miles on it over the weekend

I have a 03 Cayenne S.

So far loving the driving experience.....albeit not much distance covered so far.

Had my piggy on the ramp and checked over again by head tech and gearbox guy. Nothing loose, nothing perished and nothing missing or broken!!

But Its definitely their intermittently and they have heard it happen once. On Rocking (I mean turning by hand) the front center drive shaft, it obviuosly turns the wheels but hey presto a very similar noise can be replicated - so final analysis is slight wear and tear in the joints which when hot after a decent run seems to show up....but only sometimes. The techs said they would not advise to go looking for something by replacing parts. So I'm kinda happier now!!

BTW Porsche across the country are having a open workshop for all Cayennes to be given the once over checkup by one of their trained technicians - Early March I believe the 4th.

Anyone else having or had these noises??

I have the S first one on the register now done 45k miles
Have driven it 500 miles today no rattle but i think i detect a whine .
Hopefully back in UK tomorrow and into OPC monday .
Still cant find out what is wrong with the door mirrors
Bit of a pain on the Autoroute when you cant adjust for blind spot
