030 option code

I would be grateful for advice
I have an '89 turbo. Just had MOT and was told new front brake discs needed soon. I rang around to get parts and was told as it had M030 suspension it needed special 14 inch discs. I measured the discs and they are 12 or 13 inch at most (the wheels are original 16inch). I rechecked the options code in the boot and it has the 030 option code. Looking back through service record it last had new front discs 45k miles ago at Camtune so I presume they fitted the correct ones.
Help!

All 250bhp Turbos use the 304mm disk from the 928S4 regardless of it being M030 or not. This works out to be exactly 12" and fits perfecty inside the standard 16" wheels - I really doubt if 14" disks would even fit under there.

Call Bert at www.partsforporsche.co.uk to get the right disk first time (they are handed, there is a specific left and right disk)

It's the direction of the vanes in the internal cooling passages. They are designed to draw cooling air from the hub, up between the discs and out of the rim.

Spot on. The vanes are supposed to point backwards when the disk is fitted.

Quite often they are seen to be fitted the wrong way round with the vanes pointing forward to scoop air into the disk, but Porsche designed the airflow to enter the disk from the centre of the hub and then flow out through the vanes. I've even seen cars with two left hand disks fitted [&o]

Oooooo interesting, I will be taking a look at mine later to make sure I put them on the right way [:D] From what I recall when I bought them they were incorrectly boxed with the RH disc in the LH designated box..... thats my story anyway and I'm sticking to it [:)]

Just to clarify - it only applies to the later turbo's with the S4 brakes. The early turbo and S2 (and probably other 944 model) disks were not handed.
