[8D]In this warm weather my '79 sc oil pressure light comes on when driving round town when on the open rd its fine only happens when engine gets really warm oil pressure needle moves as normal idles just above 1 on the gauge and 4 + when under load any ideas? is this normal for a 118000 mile engine oil and filter recently changed. i am an member but this site doesnt tell me that

Jamie,
Firstly I do not think the light should come at all. I assume you have check the oil level with the dip stick when it occurs? Normally if the engine is worn the pressure gauge would show it up. The spec for the enine is at 5,000 rpm 4.5 bar you indicate this is what you are seeing. I would be inclinded to check the switch for the oil pressure warning light and check what grade of oil you are using. As it could be that the oil is to "thin" at high temp.
