Well falling heavily still, I measured 10" early this morning. Looks like my trip to pick up the new beast Friday is looking a little doubtful .....[&o]

Are you still measuring the snow in inches down there? Lightweight! []

That's about 4 cars in as many weeks Des. Have you bought a camel coat yet?
Let down on one and buying another, I think that makes one bought. Looks like the weather will delay collection, unless I find a sledge!
It's more than 10" here now ......

Well very little snow here still although Melv and I did try and spin our mini trucks as much as possible in the car park of the Holiday Inn in Nottingham this afternoon[]
That's nothing compared to what I've been thru in Holland/Germany/Switzerland and France over the last coupla days....
And dya know where the real problems were??............ten miles from Hull on the way out!!!
Driving in Germany and Switzerland in the snow a joy though -they just pop on their winter tyres and get on with it!! Most major roads cleared, as were all the autobahn rest areas I stopped at...........
Just goes to show how a country that regularly experiences these conditions sorts it all out......

Yes, it´s easy here, most people are used to it, normally omly minor problems occur when it snows. A few crashes, a jack-knived truck here and there... nothing serious. But there are countries which do much better. I´ve been to Northern Norway in winter, incredible how people drive on ice and snow. Couldn´t believe it, till I found it they use spike tyres...[]
Hacki,
from a snow covered Germany, all toys tucked away, Volvo station wagon has to do the work
My elder son lives in Norway and it's just normal, although they are having colder
-15c spells at the moment, but everything working, schools, bus, planes and trains.
I remember when this was normal here as a kid. We seemed to cope. I suppose when I go to buy salt, and you can't have any because the local council have it all. Makes sense when you see a gritter (Bromley Council) doing 60MPH in a 30MPH with grit/salt flyinging all over the place hitting my little Audi, about sums up the mentality.
