10 year rust warranty

You may remember I was thinking about making a claim under this warranty last year and promised I would let you know how I got on, well this is it.
At the beginning of December last year I approached my OPC at Hatfield and asked the question. They said I should arrange to meet a representative from Premier body shop, which I did and we met at Porsche Hatfield soon after.
He took photos of the effected area under the windscreen and photo copied my service book. Fortunately it was fully stamped up, especially the annual body inspections. I was surprised to learn that some people attempt to claim with hardly any stamps in their book. I am sorry but that will not help them with their claim at all.
Then I waited, and I waited 3 months. My warranty runs out in April and I getting a little nervous. Then it came through, OK to go ahead.
While it was in to get that done I decided to get the door window frames done at the same time, you know how they tend to bubble at the corners. I was quoted about £300 for both doors. When they were stripped down it was discovered to be much worse and the quote went up to £550. I could of course buy new frames complete with seals for, wait for it, £3000. It wasn't difficult to make a descision on that.
So thats it, rust bubbles under windscreen gone, doors back to new, a really nice job and I am nearly £600 down. But I want to keep my car in the best possible order so I am happy.
I was very apprehensive when I first started the process but because I followed the rules so did Porsche.
Thanks again to everyone who gave me advice last year.

Nice story Peter, glad you got it sorted.

I didn't have such luck last year with my C4S - good to see someone who did.

My 993tt has started to bubble at bottom of windscreen...11 years old....hmmm better start saving.
