If theoretically I was to happen across a drum of 102 octane race fuel, could I use it in the RS without causing any damage?

The RS was developed for 98 Ron fuel. It can with knock detection, brought on by LOWER grade fuels be run without damage for small periods with LOWER grade therefore. It does not as far as I am aware have the ability to advance the ignition or tune it's parameters ABOVE the 98ron and the tuning limits that grade of fuel produces . Therefore it would be of little use imho. I am quite happy to learn a counter opinion.
This would not of course preclude having the car set up (chip tuned) to get the most from that grade of fuel. Also be careful as to what type of fuel it is. You should not judge on octane rating alone as to it's suitability for vehicle use!!! But that's getting into chemistry not my bag, as they say.
