Howdy,

Just remembered that i penned my name down for arranging karting event in '06...

Have spoken to the local kart track, who now have a new owner... and new 270cc karts! Have raced there many times before and entertained clients there... excellent fun....

The below is what they are recommending.
[FONT=verdana, geneva"]Open GP - Good for groups who dont know each other![FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]ITINERARY [FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"][FONT=verdana,geneva"]1. Selecting race suits, helmets, gloves and balaclavas.
2. Walking the circuit.
3. Briefing, safety, kart familiarisation.
4. Practice laps.
5. Heats.
6.Semi-finals.
7. Finals.
8. Presentation of fastest lap cap, & 1st, 2nd and 3rd trophies.

1 practice lap to determine grid positions.
4 heats of 4 racing laps with 1 rundown lap
The best 12 drivers go into two 6 kart semi-finals of 5 laps and 1 rundown lap.
The best 3 drivers of each semi go into a 6 kart grid-start final of 6 laps and 1 rundown lap.
All races with computer lap timing to within 100th / second.

Costs about £45 (TBC, dependant on numbers)per head and would need between 40-50 drivers to be viable, takes about 2-3hrs. Food can be provided at extra cost. [FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]
[FONT=verdana,geneva"][FONT=verdana,geneva"]Circuit is - PRIORY PARK, Tamworth, Staffs - www.priorypark.co.uk[FONT=verdana,geneva"][FONT=verdana,geneva"]
The kart track have weekend date available of 21st of MAY, this will mean we book either an AM or PM slot.[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]
That would leave any preferred sponsorship for extra gifts/prizes, although they do give away 'Champers' and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and fastest lap trophies.

Let me know.... Would need deposit up front - the remainder will be settled individually as you sign in on the night...!

Sorry [&o]

Don't take it personally - regions seem to have difficulty getting enough people for a karting event (I don't understand why?)
So doing the same for a Register would be a huge achievement.

Thanks for trying [:)]

I'll second that - I've half filled the Trackday!

I'm guessing we won't be going ahead with this then [&o]

In that case I'm unpinning from the top of the forum...
