115mm tensioner stud for 1984 Lux

Porsche changed to a 110mm tensioner stud with later models and now the 115mm one is unavailable from them. Anyone know where I can get one? Can they be made easily enough? One of the garage owners up here said it was possible to 'pack' a 110mm stud and use that. Anyone done this?

Are you sure the 110mm one doesn't just fit? It's unusual for Porsche to drop something unless it is superceded by a later version that suits the earlier application as well as later ones. Possibly the reason is they don't support the early tensioner at all and they intend that the whole thing is changed for a later one, which would seem a good idea to me.

I don't know if it can be used which is why I'm asking I guess. I believe the tensioner stud changed because the oil pump was modified on later cars but beyond that I am ignorant.

I'm away from my notes at home so I'm not sure but I think it is the cambelt tensioner as when I've read about it damage on failure is mentioned which I don't believe happens if the balance belt and or balance belt tensioner stud snaps (as it had on my 86 944 and I didn't notice....)
I believe the part is item 45 on PET 104-00 for 1984 944, "944.102.216.01 stud"
