12000 mile service completed

Had my car serviced on Saturday.

A 12,000 mile service is £300+VAT (at OPC).

You get the spray can of Wurth's version of WD-40 to keep (why they give it to me and charge me for a can when all they need is one squirt, I don't know. I have one at home already.)
When they top up your washer bottle, they give you the bottle of washer concentrate (this is a bit more useful, but I also have on of these at home with 80% left from the last service).

The also give you a litre of Mobil 1 to top up the oil. I thought this was a nice touch, till I saw it cost £11.20 + VAT!

Anyway, at least they hoovered it and washed it for me. I don't know how they get the brake callipers so clean.
No notes or observations.
I asked about the heated washer jets, but the guy was not sure. He was going to get back to me, but I was in a rush and forgot to prompt him.

For reference I'm told the 24,000 mile one is around £700, assuming nothing has to be replaced (bar the spark plugs).

Trivia point: I noticed that the service book allows for 216,000 miles worth of services (18 services).
What do you do after that? Do you get an extension book?

What a great idea - complementary items that are charged to your bill.
Where will it end?
"We charged you for a complementary spare gearbox. We know you didn't use the one we charged you for last year, but it's policy to add it to the service"[]

I just realised as well, that I didn't mentioned PCGB membership, so I did not get the 10% off the oil.

The OPC sell replacement pages for mine. I don't know about the design of your service book, but mine has tiny ring binders so you can take it all apart and slip the extra pages in.

I have a couple more places left for the S2.

Let me know how you get on in 2015 [:D]
