12v Accessory Socket Query

Hello. I am wondering if someone can give me some advice please to what might sound a daft question.

I have 2017 991.2 Carrera 4 and use the Porsche Charge o Mat Pro to maintain the battery via the 12v socket in the centre console. This all works well. I have a Blackvue Dashcam powered from the 12V socket in the passenger side footwell too.

My question is, can I leave the dashcam connected whilst the battery is being maintained and will the power to the socket go to sleep after 30 mins whilst the battery is being conditioned by the Charge o Mat? Or, will the power to the passenger footwell socket remain live whilst the maintainer is in the loop? Should I get one of those 12v multi socket adapters that are switched for the passenger socket so I can kill the power to it to be doubly sure.

I would appreciate thoughts on this please.

I connect a dashcam to center console 12v and pull the plug whenever leaving the car for some time. When parked in the garage, I have a CTEK lead permanently connected to the + battery post / chassis earth point together with a longer lead that enables me to easily connect to the CTEK .

I have never had confidence in 20 years whether this 12v or that 12v socket was live other than when the ignition was on so I do what I do.

If I were you unless you have extended warranty, I would connect the dash cam to the powered fuse point in the footwell and then it will turn on and off depending on whether the ignition is on or off.

Thanks for your response on this Ralph. Much appreciated. My vehicle is under extended warranty by Porsche for info so no reconfiguring things from the fuse perspective.
