15" LCD TV running off Cigarette Lighter

Is this possible??

Taking the 944 to le mans in a couple of weeks and we've got the playstation but just need the tv.

I'm looking at a Samsung 151MP SyncMaster 15" LCD TV. It runs off a 12V DC adpater and i'm hoping this will work off the cigarette lighter. I'm not sure about the power but I can't imagine it will be anymore than some of those kitted up Golfs blowing out 365dB.

Does anyone have any idea if this will work??

Thanks

It will, but you will drain your battery faster than you think ! (Been there, done that on 944 Register stand !)

I wonder what Eastenders omnibus - dubbed in to french - with english subtitles - would be like ?? [:D][:D][:D]

I agree with Rick. The huge ICE Barrymobiles have 2 batteries and huge capacitors to help with power, and I don't think they run for very long at a time, like minutes.

Ok thanks. anyway it sounds like it will work for the journey down. Maybe i need i invest in another battery as well.

Why? You can play on the Playstation at home, you don't need to take it to Le Mans to play on it. Equally, if you are at Le Mans, why would you want to be playing on a Playstation. I'd save the money you were going to spend on the TV and spend it on beer, you migh have a better time.

I do "Grumpy Old Man" quite well. [:D]

There is also another kind of selfish reason for the playstation.

Its a tossup between me driving the 944 and my mate driving his cupra. Both of us want to drive. But as my mate is completely obsessed with playstation, I think 6 constant hours of playing on the way there might just throw it in my favour.

Its also £190 rather than £700. Still leaves £510 for beer!

If you're running the PS2 on the way down with the engine running I should imagine you won't have a problem. I have run a fridge and a 240v socket from my cigarette lighter on the way down to Le Mans and it was fine. The battery won't last long with the engine off (obviously)

Anyway your mate will be 'spotter' looking for overtaking opportunities from the left hand seat on the drive down. The 'spirited' drive down amongst other exotica is one of the highlights of the trip.

all other Le Mans posts on this forum will be deleted coz I aint going this year [;)]

And I will re-instate them as I am going on the PCGB Scotland Raid - Locks & Laughs Tour - which is going to be every bit as much fun if not more so. It is sooner than Le Mans so I don't have to wait so long.
