16" 7J & 8J Tyre Sizes?

I read in a mag recently (think it was 911 & Porsche world) that 7J & 8J 16" D90's should have 225 50 16 and 245 45 16 tyres. I thought that this should have been 205 55 16 and 225 50 16. Any ideas which it should be, or will either squeeze on?

Those are S2 rim sizes and your thoughts on tyres are correct.

Turbo tyre sizes are the larger ones you've quoted which came on 7.5" / 9" rims.

In saying that - you can squeeze the latter sizes onto S2 rims (in fact Toyo approve fitment of a 245/45/16 on a rim as narrow as 7.5" [&:] )
