16x7 Teledial Fitment

Finally had the opportunity to offer up the wheels I bought a couple of months ago and the front seems to foul the strut.
I thought i had bought the right offset of 52.3 so they should bolt straight on, but now I'm not sure.
The part number is 928.361.016.00?
There now seems to be differing info on what I have googled.
Anyone help?

I'd hazard a guess that 928 wheels have a 65mm offset - a 10-15mm spacer on each corner would sort you out but probably cost a fair bit. If you get spacers try to get the type that bolt to your hub & have integral studs for the wheels to bolt to rather than the simple type with holes that need longer studs. Easier to fit, easier to revert to standard.

Mine are the wider 7Jx15 ET 52.3 and they fit without fouling, although if you go down a dip too fast the front arches rub slightly. This may be down to me having 225 tyres on, this width was the only one which didn't make the handling feel bad.

How do spacers affect the offset? If my wheels are 65 do you subtract the spacer?
I have 18mm spacers at the back so do I calculate 65mm - 18mm = 47mm?
I was advised regarding offsets, the thing to watch out for is not to go less than ET 51 on the front, as offsets below this compromise the negative scrub geometry (safety feature during braking) built into our cars. ET 52-57 should be no issue on either axle.

Think of it as 65mm of inset. By adding 13mm spacers you will reduce this inset to 52mm. Ive already posted a solution on the Tipec site, so I wont repeat it here.

I had some 928 15x7 dials that I used on my 924S's - ET52.3 should be fine. But....

What I found was that they worked fine on my '86, but scraped against the spring/spring platform on my '88. There's no reason I know why this should be the case - and I guess it's a marginal thing. Small spacers (7mm IIRC) sorted the problem - they are cheap (and if you are local to Derby, you can have mine for even less [:D])
