18 inch 987 wheels on 2004 986 S - tyres?

I have a (new to me) 986 S with 987 18 inch wheels. My independent advised new tyres so I've had them fitted. However, I've realised I've stupidly used the registration lookup for the tyre sizes.

This has meant I've got 986 18 inch tyre sizes on 987 18 inch wheels. Will this be OK?
Strangely enough, the tyres that were already on the car were 986 size. Glad to see I'm not the only one who got it wrong!

I'm just worried a little about the implications.

Good work!

If you had not done this the speedo would read under speed by a few percent. I understand the sidewall profile to be less on a 986 - usually 5% e.g. 50 vs 55 on a front 17 inch wheel.

For complete peace of mind, you might want to compare offset and wheel width between 986 and 987 Wheels to understand where it sits in the arch too.
