19" wheel offsets

I recently bought a 2004 C4S which came with 19" 997 Carrera S wheels.

Last weekend was its first decent run and I have started to notice a constant whirring noise that changes note with speed but not if you dip the clutch. Quick look round the interweb leads me to think its wheel bearings, but having a look tonight the front wheels are frighteningly close to the suspension mounts on the inside edge.

There are spacers on the rear but nothing on the front and I am now wondering if they are rubbing?

Has anyone else fitted these wheels to a 996 and if so did you have to use spacers on the front?

Wheels are stamped BBS RD 209 so I am presuming they are OEM.

Size is 8J x 19H2 ET57 with a Continental sport contact tyre at 235/35 ZR 19

If I do need spacers any advice on what size would be greatly appreciated, I could be completely wrong and it is bearings, but would like to start with the simple stuff first.

Standard front size is 8jx18 ET50
So fitted wheel is 1" larger on diameter and 7mm less clearance to suspension. So unless you can see rub marks on the tyre or leg then should be fine. The noise is more likely a wheel bearing or diff.
