1970 911 T - Restoration - What glue to use for bonding two pieces of rubber

Hi All,

I am in mid completion of restoring a 911 T. But I am stuck with one issue. I ordered the new bumper which slides into the chrome pieces that then finally goes onto my bumper.

The rubber comes in two pieces and I tested a few glues all of which were pretty useless.. Any tips on the best glue to use for bonding two pieces of rubber?

Any replies are greatly appreciated.

Best,

Mark

Have you tried super glue? Leaves very little witness line and usually bonds well on new rubber.

I'd use bicycle puncture repair glue-then peel off any excess that shows-a little powdered chalk or talcum powder would stop it sticking where it's not wanted-otherwise contact adhesive-both very similar

Thanks for all the feedback gents. Very helpful indeed. I found a rubber glue and tried it out today. Will let you know how the results turns out.

Best,

Mark
