Hi all, newbie here..
Bit of a strange 1st post but a very good friend of mine has asked me to sell his late Father's 1967 911T 2.4.
I know a fair bit about cars, but have absolutely no idea about how to value an old 911!
The car can only be described as immaculate, it was his pride and joy (along with a Lancia Fulvia, that i've now got).
I've seen cars for 15k, and ones for 50k, there seems to be such a difference if you (like me) don't understand all the different model depictions! .. I know i've given a very vague description, but a dealer has offered him 30k, and i'd like to know if thats the correct figure or not?
Any help/pointers/views and links to the value would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
James

Hello James.

Value is driven by originality and condition these days. First thing though is to understand exactly what you are selling. Your title says 1976 and the post says 1967. Also you quote a 2.4T which was only made in 1972-1973. Ts in general were not made until 1968.

You might ask your friend to contact me on 911@porscheclubgb.com

Thanks Ian.. typo on my behalf! .. its definitely a 1967 car, but obviously it may not be a 't'.. just going on what I remember when last seeing it! .. i'll get the correct details and e-mail you, many thanks for your help!

Of course your friend might think a 68 car was actually a 67 car as Porsche model years run from August to the following July. In which case he might think it is a 67 T when in fact it is a 68 T that was bought and registered in late 1967 (1968 cars were made from August 1967 through July 1968). Complicated hey!.

The most useful thing to get for the email if you can is the chassis number as that would tell what it is. The chassis number is stamped onto the shell in the front luggage compartment to the top left of the petrol tank. If it was a 68T it would start with the numbers 1182. It should also be on the V5C.

Ian.
