Hello and Welcome to the crazy world that is Porsche ownership.

You should be able to get the keys sorted out at your local OPC (Official Porsche Centre). This should be the only time you go into one of these places as they have special equipment to bleed you dry. People local to yourselves will be able to give you the names of any good 'indies' in your area. They are usually much more au fait with older cars, some mechanics at OPCs will have only seen 944 and the like on the road.
Cheers,

Hi and welcome.

I guess a 944 key should be less complex than a 996 key (with remote door lock on it). Mine 996 only came with one key and the replacement key / fob and programming was 250 GBP, less the 10% PCGB discount of course.

Hopefully your's won't be that expensive / complex though ...

Hi all ..thanks for the reply and im pleased to say that i believe i have secured a replacement key for my 944 and yes it was from a porsche main dealer at colchester...but heres the shock... on the phone the parts chap reeled of figures such as 445 and 1798 and my mind instantly went £445 !!!yikes ..gingerly i asked him to confirm the prices and it was £.4.45 and £17.98..no charge for cutting!! i was a little stunned, but extremly happy ...so thanks looks like im sorted...hope to meet some of you on the club night all being well!

Could you please give me their address or phone number? I need a key made for my 1988 944 as I lost my only copy. Thanks for the help

Put Porsche Centre Colchester into Google. Gives you address, phone number and map. Also available on Porsche site.
