Hi,

Am looking at possibly getting one of these. Need some advice.

Is there anywhere where a Porsche specialist can check out the car at a reasonable price, before I buy?

Also what bhp do they produce as stock?

Sorry can't help you on this one, I'm from oop north, i'm sure it won't be long before someone else makes a sugesstion.

It is worth getting a potential purchase checked out before you buy though!

You have possibly the best independent specialist in the country on your doorstep. JZ Machtech are in Kings Langley. Here's their website (they do inspections too !).

A stock '86 3.2 shpuld have put out 231bhp when it left the factory. Unless you have had an engine rebuild, I should imagine current power would be a bit down on that. (My '89 puts out 217bhp for example)

JTT,
Welcome to the club.
[:)] My 911 3.2 is for sale.
It's the car in the photo on the left<
Has heaps of extras, such as:
Billy Boat SS exhaust, with tri-flow manifold.
Cup 17" alloys.
New front tyres.
C2 body kit, with genuine 964 panels, incl. engine lid with electric spoiler.
Leather sport seats.
Bel 870 radar detector.
Burgandy interior.
Colour coded dials.
Porsche imobliser & seperate Cat 1 remote alarm system.
Motor re-built 30k ago, by Paragon.
Dyno tested in april 2003, at JZ, producing 230 bhp.
Taxed till June 2004.
Reluctant sale:[]
I'm selling it, as I plan on moving os.
Much loved and cherished.
Just serviced, runs sweet.

I'll second the recommendation for JZs, very good, take my car there. Will do a good PPI.

Equally, I'll second Jamies comments on power, my 1987 car, gave 217bhp when dyno'd earlier this year (std 231), this is with 106,000 miles and no rebuild. Several people have had theirs chipped to bring them back closer to stock power. Frankly, I need to learn to drive before I think about more power.

Final word of advice, do it! buy one you wont regret it. I have seen some cracking cars for around 15K recently.

Hi JTT,
I have an 84 model 3.2 Convertable for sale with a private plate, flat nose conversion and full service history. Fully checked out by Auto Farm 2000 miles ago_Only 77,000 miles on the clock. See the picture on 3.2 flat nose for sale at a very cheap price of £11,000. Reluctant sale due to business commitments.
