Can anyone suggest a cost effective source for either a new pair of front wings, or a good used pair?
Cheers
John

Hi John,

Chris at Exeter PC gives a good deal to Club members on new parts. Used are available from a wide range of breakers, most have e-bay shops and there are a few of the best-known listed in the "faqs" above. The trouble is that most cars are scrapped because of accident damage or having been badly maintained, and the wings will be the same age as yours and probably equally corroded.

Some people have had repairs carried out involving new metal being used to replace the wing bottom, but with the likely cost of this it's not all that far off the cost of new wings. At least with new you know that they'll last 20 years or more! [&:]

John I would phone the OPC last, then ask them if they will price match after they have taken off your club discount. They are all feeling the squeeze due to the credit crunch and you may get a vary good deal but you need to ask fist, and they will be good quality and fit
By the way I would phone a few OPC`s not just the nearest one to you

Good advice Graham I got a 'better than price match' this week on exhaust tips for the C4S after ringing around and then visiting Newcastle OPC. Like you say buyers market at the moment and its about time we benefitted

See you on the 6th[;)]

Try PH Sportscars at Shardlow near Derby/ J24 of M1. They break and repair Porsches and usually have a load of 944 things in stock. They maintained both of my old 944s & I have no problem in recommending them. I don't have contact details to hand but it shouldbe easy to find.

I had great difficulty finding a replace wing for my S2, in the end the only place that had one that wasn't rusty was doug valley and I cant fault their service.

Thanks for the responses so far guys.... I'm still looking.
I'm now down to deciding whether to go with new or good used ones - to my surprise there are some used ones that aren't corroded.
Needless to say cost is the issue..... and the only spare new wing I was offered was for the side that didn't really warrant a new wing!

I may have a pair spare in the middle of December. Im not certain because I havent agreed a price for the car yet.
