1988 model year

Has anyone heard of any possible problems with the body galvanising of 944s made in the year 1988?
I am looking for a nice late Lux at the moment, and a friend told me that he'd heard somewhere that Porsche had problems in that year, and to steer clear of 1988 models??
Could anyone spread any light please?

Never heard of it either, I would have thought unlikely as they were sold with a long term corrosion warranty (10 years?).

Possibility that they were confused over 944 / 924. I believe that a large qty of bodyshells for 924 were lying around towards the end of production, hence the 924S using 944 mechanicals [albeit detuned]. For 1988 MY

I'm a bit late to this thread, but I've got an 1988 car, and there are no signs of rust anywhere.
