Download the PET for the Carrera 3.2 and the relevant part numbers should be on there. Follow the links through the Porsche website to the Porsche Classic section. It's a very useful file!

My flag-type passenger-side electric mirror assembly does not work. There is power and the motor works, but the mirror does not move. I've taken the glass out and removed the heating connections. There are a couple of small broken pieces of black plastic. I need the assembly but not the mirror, and a used part any colour, will be fine, as I only require the inside part. I have found a part online here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-wing-mirror-P-N-911-731-025-02-/282406044548?hash=item41c0b64384:g:OFwAAOSw-0xYj51q
It looks right, and the part number is 911.731.025.02, but not sure if it is correct.
Also, will the inside be different for a LHD car?
Can anyone please help?
Many thanks.

You will be able to remove the motor and use it on your car. It may mean cutting the old suroun a bit to get the wiring free.

A new motor is about that price new

Many thanks, that's great. I will order a new motor and put a bit of a shopping list together :)

Thank you for all the help and advice so far. I have to disconnect the wiring from the mirror itself and leave the wiring in the door. I have got the mirror apart, but can't release the 6 wire connectors from the white round plastic connector. There is a tool that can be used to remove wire connectors from plugs, and I believe that the correct factory tools are made by Stahlwille under the name Kabelex, but are very expensive. Is there an alternative, and if so, should I buy a set to fit other connectors, e.g. radio? Many thanks.

Hi. Snap on tools do them. Or if you are near me in kent

pop round I will do them or borrow the tool.

Chas.

You can buy the round connecter and the pins from Porsche have done this in the past then you can fit no problem. As for the mirror LHD not the same as the RHD .Steve

Just a update on the mirrors you cannot buy a complete mirror any more, there is no mirror part number for a complete mirror, the only way is to buy individual parts with all different part numbers which cost a fortune Steve.

I have a set of flag mirrors I am replacing due to dents if you require the inards/motors etc drop me a note

That sounds good. Does everything work? And of course, how much would you like for the parts?

Many thanks.

The tool to disconnect the pins can be purchased from RS components also, its pretty standard in the auto wiring industry. I can send some photos of the procedure if you give me an E mail address
